Monthly Archives: May 2021
Stage 13
We start on the rear half of the saucer skeleton as well as the Main Impulse Engine in Stage 13!
Stage 12
The neck’s Right Rear Windows and four more Skeletal Supports arrive with Stage 12!
Stage 11
Another piece of saucer skeleton and the neck’s Left Rear Windows are installed in Stage 11!
Free Gift #2
If you signed up for the subscription-based version of this Eaglemoss 1:900 scale U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D partwork build-up, you will receive four FREE gifts along the way. The first gift was a Collector’s Binder, and the second gift is this fancy Screw Box.
There is nothing super special about this plastic box, but it does have a big color ST:TNG sticker on it. Inside, it has twenty-four (24) compartments. Based on my previous partwork experiences, that may not be enough!
It is worth noting that the vertical dividers can be moved around as needed. This is helpful to store larger items and perhaps make smaller compartments for screws:
Only time will tell if we actually receive more than 24 different types of screws during the build!
Stage 10
We finish up this month’s work with more skeleton and neck windows in Stage 10!
Stage 9
Work continues on expanding the saucer skeleton as well as adding windows to the battle section neck with Stage 9!
Stage 8
A second phaser bank and more saucer framework are built in Stage 8!
Stage 7
This month, we begin by receiving the rear of the battle section neck and continue to build up the saucer framework in Stage 7!
The Windows
I have been sanding down many of the windows on my Enterprise D model as I didn’t like that they were sticking up out of the hull. I thought I would put together The Windows page to describe my process and a custom tool I had made to help out.
